Peterborough Flutes

Thursday 27 July

Peterborough Flute Choir was founded in 2018 by Charlie Kisby who, having enjoyed playing in other flute choirs around the south east of England, wanted to have one of her own! Since the first rehearsal with four members, the group has swelled to 18 regular flautists who come from in and around Peterborough, Spalding, Chatteris and Oundle. The ensemble aims to raise the profile of the flute family of piccolo, concert, alto and bass flutes. Last year, the choir performed at The Mayor’s Balland for Nen Park’s Music in the Park. Helping to raise money for charities is also a key focus and we were pleased to perform at Wisbech St Mary’s Open Gardens and John Lewis to support the Alzheimer’s Society. Similarly, each Christmas the group joins forces with Light Project Peterborough to raise money at venues like Tescos.
